The Martin Monster Mini is the only full suspension hard tire scooter available in the market today. Although there are limitations in the capabilities of the particular suspension setup of this scooter, the implementation is certainly novel. So novel that Martin was able to call out the suspension as a new patent and sue PMW in 2002 for $177k.

Really of little use on all but the smallest lumps in the road, Martin's suspension worked fairly for lighter riders but had trouble coping with larger loads, particularly due to the lack of adjustment in the important front suspension.

Due to awkward mounting positions on early units, front brakes had a tendency to bend, break and generally not provide sufficient braking. Later models redesigned the fork and had better, but still limited success due to the waxy surface of the tire sidewall.

Adjustable barrel carburetor with finger throttle. Early models suffered from sticky throttle cables pinched by the decks, some later ones had this remedied.
